How we work.
We operate out of a small office in the west Los Angeles area near the Pico/Robertson Blvd intersection. We have a small record store with about 6000 vinyl records.
We buy collections and very hard to find vinyl.
What we find on ebay is that people are hesitant to purchase vinyl because they are not sure of the authenticity of the grading.
How we grade:
We have a team of 2 musicians and vinyl enthusiasts that grade records by the record itself.
Kenneth Mahone (keyboarder and gospel musician) and Matthew Harper (who has a small record label himself).
One grader grades the record and then after another grader regrades it.
This way if 1 grader is very “off” then the second grader comes back in to switch the grading.
Regarding the record jacket (the cardboard the record is stored in)
We do not grade this, yet make notes on the listing if any major damage is done to the record jacket.
Our grading system for the vinyl itself.
Mint = It obviously is in shrink, sealed or just opened and looks like never played.
NM = It may be played a few times and the only thing we can find is a few fingerprints possibly someone looking at the vinyl
Very good + (VG+)= Very minor scratches on the vinyl and plays great.
VG = Maybe 4-5 scratches and still plays great
Good Plus (G+)= A number of scratches..maybe 10-15 scratches yet still plays very good.
Good (G) = overwhelming amount of scratches maybe 15-25 noticeable scratches yet still plays
Fair (F) = maybe 100 scratches and we do not sell vinyl like this.
Shipping:
Its very easy for us to locate our vinyl and ship out usually same day.
