Very good futon mattress.
This is a sturdy, well made, comfortable, nice looking mattress for your futon. I highly recommend it. The fabric has been very durable and is nice looking. It is much more comfortable than the mattress we replaced. Good value too.
A great value for new mattress
Bought this to replace the mattress from a used futon I purchased. I was concerned it would be too large for my standard sized futon, but it fit like a charm. I was also concerned the inner springs would be uncomfortable, not so. It replaces a non-spring mattress so it is not “as comfortable” as a lump of foam, but it is certainly comfortable enough, and is more firm than the foam. Pic is below. I would not hesitate to purchase this if you want a value. One tip, when unpacking, be careful when cutting the outer wrapping. I used a box-cutter and almost ended up cutting the mattress. There is no real protection around the mattress other than plastic wrap.
Ideal 6″ futon mattress
This futon mattress is used primarily as a futon sofa on the lower level of my daughter’s bunk bed. When guests spend the night, we use the futon as a bed. The reason I say this – when you fold the 8″, it is so thick that it starts to slide off the frame. The 6″ folds up a little easier and is less prone to sliding. If you are sleeping on the 8″, it is extremely comfortable. The 6″ is reasonably comfortable to sleep on and I think is a better compromise. Both have a good appearance.
Great mattress, ‘meh’ price.
I’m a college student who was simply looking for something comfier than the cotton batting/polyfill mattress I had and this one was my best bet. I was looking for a plain black one, but saw that the price for black was $20 more than it was for a brown one….worth the extra money? Think not. I just went ahead with the brown mattress.
After it got delivered (being held back a day; shame on you, FedEx) I dragged it down to my futon frame and unwrapped it there so I wouldn’t have to play the puzzle game with my dorm room and friends. Tip: When unwrapping, the mattress will end up upside down, don’t cut the second plastic layer until you have it the way you want it! I’ve been sleeping on it for about 2 weeks and it’s wonderful! I can fold it into a sofa without too much trouble and it’s kept its springy-ness really well!
